ENEA is a governmental non-profit research and development organization and the missions of ENEA ICT Division are:
1) the operation of hardware and software infrastructures for scientific computing, geographical data networks, their connection to national and international networks, local area networks, and related services such as databases, multimedia services, centralized backup services, supporting services to scientific users;
2) R&D activities in the domains of distributed and high performance computing, ultra-high throughput data networks, interoperability of heterogeneous systems such as large scientific instruments and scientific laboratories, and on specific industry-driven applications.
